My Inspiration: This Necklace!! In my first post, I mentioned the necklace that belonged to my friend’s mother who received it as a gift in the 60’s, When I saw it, I recognized it as a chainmaille weave, European 4 in 1 to be exact. It was made with many hundreds of tiny, tiny GOLD rings. It was exquisite! It looked and felt like wavy silk. It was so soft and flexible that instead of closing with a clasp, the two back pieces crossed each other and tied! I soon began making flat wide bracelets in the same weave and used the term Micromaille weave to describe them.
Thanks Suzee McCabe for showing me this necklace and for letting me share it!
