Classic European Chainmaille in Sterling Silver

Sterling Silver Chainmaille Bracelet, Toggle Clasp, 7 1/2 inches long   3/4 inch wide.

This Classic European Chainmaille in Sterling Silver is the weave most often characterizing chainmaille.  It begins with four rings added to one.  This cuff like bracelet is 3/4 inch wide resulting in  a very silky, flat, comfortable piece of jewelry.

Process:  Each of my chainmaille pieces is made by hand.  When I began making chainmaille I used mostly sterling silver and I enlisted  my husband to use my jumpringer system to cut the rings.  Now, in addition to sterling,  I use many more types of materials and many excellent vendors are available to purchase rings.  In each case, two pair of pliers are used, one holds the chain, the other grabs an open jump rings and adds it to the last.

Chainmaille Weave:  European 4 in 1.  Four rings are added to one.  This is the weave seen in armor from medieval days.

Material – Sterling Silver – A precious metal containing 92.5% by weight of silver.  Keep your shiny necklace in an antitarnish bag, provided with each order,  when not wearing.

Rings:  Heavy gauge so you do not have to worry about the rings pulling about.

Width and Length.  Bracelets are 7 1/2 inches long, considered the norm, Length can be adjusted one inch shorter or longer at no additional charge.
