Gunmetal Micropave Snake Pendant Necklace with Chainmaille Accents. This is a perfect piece to layer with other necklaces of varying lengths and metals. This necklace consists of a micropave snake charm, a chainmaille segment in a weave called Jens Pind, and a thin gunmetal chain separated from the chainmaille segment by tiny silver round beads. It is sure to grab attention!
Process: Each of my chainmaille pieces is made by hand. When I began making chainmaille I used mostly sterling silver and I enlisted my husband to use my jumpringer system to cut the rings. Now I use many more types of materials and many excellent vendors are available to purchase rings. In each case, two pair of pliers are used, one holds the chain, the other grabs an open jump ring and adds it to the last.
Chainmaille Weave: Jens Pind Linkage. Looks simple but this is one of the most difficult to conquer! It begins with a mobius unit, and is a type of spiral chain. I love the intricate look achieved when using tiny rings.
Material: Gunmetal plated brass jump rings
Rings: Heavy gauge so you do not have to worry about the rings pulling about.
Other Materials: Micro Pave Crystal Snake Pendant, Stainless steel bail, Gunmetal Lobster Clasp.
Width and Length. 18 inches, the pendant hangs 1.5 inches below the necklace. The length can be adjusted one inch shorter or longer at no additional charge.
